Re: Slice up an object
Another method is to make a block the thickness of the slice which extends beyond the extents of the model, create an array of the block at 2 x thickness intervals, then boolean|section between the model and array. Downgrade the resulting section to separate the edges.

Re: Boat design
Looks nice! So the question is how to create them from convex hull part/surface? Janeks To be developable, they must be simplified to single curvature. One way is to slice the hull bread-and-butter orthographically (boolean surface intersection with an appropriate object) and loft ruled surfaces fo...

Re: creating curved faces (wavy disk coulter blade / pastry wheel example)
I lofted between wires for this car wheel's web (http://forum.freecadweb.org/download/file.php?id=7699). I made the wires manually, so I found it was easier to snap a polyline to alternate top and bottom vertices of polygonal prism, then convert the wire to b-spline. The reason for converting afterw...

Re: Nurbs editor
This is Blender's Suzanne level 2 subD and converted to nurbs with PunchCAD with PowerPackPro plugin. It'll tolerate some triangles if it's mostly quads, and it has some means to autorepair, but the commercial 3D Coat does great retopology. I'm trying to learn how to retopo with Blender's shrink wra...

Re: Request to mods
I stated in my original post that I have no grudge or hostility, so I'd like to think that reconciliation is possible, and that murdic can have continuity. The ban is a cautionary lesson, I'd be more circumspect because of it. Specifically, I undertake to not engage in any similar scenarios if murdi...

Re: Request to mods
I can edit the content of posts made under this username. You have the same dispensation under yours. I can't edit the content of posts I made as murdic. That's appropriation. I've explained my reasons for asking the mods, who have the ability and the authority to fulfil the request. I've explained ...

Re: Reconstructing terrain from contours
Now what would be a good strategy to recreate the terrain? Lofts? Unfortunately this is a terrible mix of open and closed wires... This won't work well, and would be complicated to select which wire goes with which other wire. Any other idea? Filling contours with colour gradients makes them suitab...

Re: Request to mods
It's not about the work being edited or redistributed, it's the creator being excluded from being able to do so for an unrelated offence. Despite the letter of the disclaimer, it's an immoral position.
