Re: Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
In any case, you probably should change the way you make your model. The main thing is to postpone adding the actual gear to as late as possible. Every time you, say, pocket the gear, FreeCAD searches for intersections between every tooth of the gear and your pocket. To find out, of course, there i...

Re: Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
File opens in about 2 seconds on my Core i5. Editing Pocket001 and changing its length takes about 5 seconds, it takes another 5 seconds after clicking OK for FreeCAD to be responsive again. One of my 4 cores spiked to 100% for about the same time. I changed the length of Pocket001 from 40mm to 30m...

Re: Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
Would you allow random people upload files of unlimited size and count to your pc and take responsibility for keeping them for reasonable (years?) amount of time? This is why there is a limit... I understand this, but why have a limit that does not suit the product you are supporting. Or is my desi...

Re: Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
You are correctly...when you right click and save link you do not get the file. Sorry. Why would there be a limit that makes it not posible to upload a file as it is too big. I have seen other designs on this forum that are many times more complex then what I have done. Based on my file size some of...

Re: Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
Hi Ray, I have no access to your file because Firefox can not find the server. I have Firefox on two of my PC and I can download it. I think you are clicking on the link rather then right clicking on it and selecting "Save Link As..." Here is a picture of the design so far. Ray. http://ww...

Involute Gear Causing PC Overload
Hello, I have being trying to design a flywheel. For the ring gear, I have used the Involute Gear tool. The ring gear has 122 teeth. The FreeCad software locks up with "Program Not Responding" when I try to add or modify the design. With a lot less teeth there is no problem. If I select 22...

Audi V10 Exhaust Manifold Flange Design
Hello, This is my first CAD design. It is free for anyone to use. It is exhaust manifold flange for the Audi V10 engine. The one flange suits both sides of the engine. The way of attaching the flange to the head is quit unique. It is designed to wedge into a bar bolted to the cylinder head just unde...
