Re: Element Membrane M3D6

After a little experimenting, I got a working calculix-file from an Abaqus-example. It has only M3D3 elements, but will give a start. I had to define the membrane thickness with *NODAL THICKNESS. Ulrich *HEADING : MEMBRANE LOADING [M3D3] *NODE, NSET=Nall 1, 0.0, 0.0 2, 2.0, 0.0 3, 2.0, 1.0 4, 0.0, 1...

Re: Element Membrane M3D6

Do you know how can I resolve this error? I could not find a hint in the manual, but for example for axisymmetric elements, you have to use a *SOLID SECTION but not a *SHELL SECTION. So I would try to just replace the *SHELL with *SOLID. Edit: Another try would be to replace *SHELL with *MEMBRANE C...

Re: ccxInputWriter vs. Faces

BUT: I'm facing problems. How do I get the information if a FEM mesh face is in the same direction like the geometrical face normal (the normal of the reference shape). I did expecting this, but had no time to investigate. I already had one example where I got FEM-faces, which had its normal into t...

Re: ccxInputWriter vs. Faces

UR_ has answered already. The link worked last week for me. Here is an alternative: http://web.mit.edu/calculix_v2.7/CalculiX/ccx_2.7/doc/ccx/node147.html Just had a look at this. The pressure constraint has never been working on shell meshes. I'm surprised ccx gives some results ?!? At least FreeCA...

Re: Testing TechDraw

I got missing dimension objects in the treeview at making a dimension between two selected corner points. The missing tree objects are kind of existing, because you get them sometimes at selecting other drawing objects in the tree.

See the example file.

Re: FEM object types

This is an answer to this post. https://forum.freecadweb.org/posting.php?mode=reply&f=18&t=21872#pr170043 But I think it should be written here. Solve this on either shell or solid mesh is possible, but on mixed meshes we really are in trouble ... This is also a problem for pure 2D-meshes, w...

Re: ccxInputWriter vs. Faces

Same box meshed from shells with unexpected result. Yes this is clearly a bug in ccxInputWriter. The input file has the following lines for the pressure load: *********************************************************** ** Element + CalculiX face + load in [MPa] ** written by write_constraints_press...
