Re: How can I edit "arc of ellipse"?

Hello Stephen, I appreciate that "sketcher" is not used for exact, measured elements That statement is totally wrong. On the contrary, the whole purpose of the Sketcher is to define geometry with the most precision possible, all in the 3D view. No edit dialog is necessary. To define your a...

Re: GD&T Workbenk for FreeCAD

This is awesome. Great work Juan!

It's a pity though that this info will surely be lost at STEP export as I doubt FreeCAD's STEP exporter supports this.

Re: Align plane to cone wall

And with the revolution having created the cone empty, a tangent plane rotated 45 degrees is going to be required, with no obvious way of creating the necessary vertices. :? Found it. :geek: Datum point with "On edge" attachment mode. Just select a circular edge of the cone. By default th...

Re: Align plane to cone wall

Well I was only looking at the projected view at the right and just now noticed that the whatchamacallit at 45 degrees from top view isn't a polar pattern of the other feature. And with the revolution having created the cone empty, a tangent plane rotated 45 degrees is going to be required, with no ...

Re: Align plane to cone wall

Hi salp, Those challenges seem fun. With the cone is it possible to attach the plane directly to the cone wall? Yes it is, with some limitations. When creating a Datum plane with no pre-selection, all the existing attachment modes are listed. There's a Tangent to Surface mode, its help tool tip ment...

Re: SheetMetal WB migration to 0.17

Hello shaise, I believe Serchu means a tool to create a base plate. Not requiring to either create a Part Cube or a sketch then a Pad would be useful. Basically this could be like a Part Cube, but with length, width and thickness properties. I wonder if it would be possible to implement automatic wo...

Re: How to create a handrail scroll/volute shape based on fibbonacci?

Hi, but the fuse fails, or at least the resulting geometry has errors. I think this is an OCC limitation or bug. I haven't run your script, but just based on your screen capture I'm pretty sure it would fail on most CAD programs, at least in Solid Edge which I use at work the sweep tool would almost...
