Tarmo 5 assy

Hello all, not design from me but an assembly of the RC car Tarmo 5 available [here][/https://github.com/Nemesis81/Tarmo5-freecad] all the assembly is done on assembly 3. https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/17654063/250302732-06390bde-ed3f-4bc3-87fa-5d25671627d4.png for those who wants to twea...

[WIP Workbench] Dimensional Variation Analysis WB

Hello all, I'm working on a DVA Workench for Freecad. it is in early devloppment so not everything is working. First of all, what is a Dimnsional Variation analysis ? for those not familiar with this concept this is a method use to evaluate the impact of tolerance of single component on an assembly....

taking in account the simplicity of the part I would redo it in partdesign to get consistent constraints during assembly

Re: Assembly3: Pre-Alignment before Attachment constraint

When do you add the attachment constraint? Before or after the coincident? Adding it after deleting the coincident moves the part... my idea was after the deleting the constraint, but maybe you need to untoggle the automatic solving, so the part should'nt move, and just stay where it is however, ev...

Re: Assembly3 preview

if you use a circle + plane, it will consider the center of the circle.
so by using each side of the wheel, you keep the distance between wheel axis and plane.
this point plane distance = radius of wheel
so unless your step is not with a true circle, it should work

hi,
maybe just a basic refinement option not ticked.
in preference=>part
you have some option to apply a refinement after each operation.
I assumed you where using partdesign

Re: Assembly3: Pre-Alignment before Attachment constraint

hello, from what I understand, you don't care about solving assembly once your part are in place. so my workflow would be the following, aka "the one you have define" : 1 - Lock the base-plate 2 - use Plane coincident constraint between circle of base-plate and part1 3 - solve the assy 4 -...

Any ideas?
hi
I will use a point plane distance, with distance = radius of the wheel. of course the wheel will not rotate, but the movement will be ok
