Re: Why an object can only be inside one App::Part?

(ickby was faster) Hi! This functionality is essentially missing at the moment. There is a plan for generic Instance object, which will probably work very much like you suggest. In fact, I can probably easily roll one in python. Dealing with selection is an interesting problem. If you feel like it, ...

Re: Coarse ellipse and circle defintion

So I can almost confirm my suspect on thickness operation. Geometry check doesn't complete, and finds edges that are internally segmented (C0 means a b-spline curve with zero degree continuity, i.e. non-tangent joints between segments). Internal surface edges are smooth, but external are bad. Consid...

Re: Coarse ellipse and circle defintion

I tried the brep file option and it made a file 3 x larger, even when compressed it was larger than the native freecad file. :shock: FreeCAD project file is a zip containing the brep files for every shape in your project plus insignificant in size but important information about all parametric rela...

Did you use PartDesign Pad instead of Part Extrude?

Re: Bug #2876: Value of Part::Thickness is missing unit

There is a more serious bug associated with this, which I probably forgot to put on tracker. There is a unit mismatch between field in offset dialog and the property, which causes problems with expression support. E.g. an expression with a unit, accepted by dialog, will fail to be bound to a unit-le...

Re: Polar pattern bugs

The linear pattern have also a bit strange behaviour. When i want create a pattern i know the number of objects and distance between objects . So every time i use the pattern i am confused by its working method. +1 for linear pattern. Every time I was using it, I had to try a few times before I got...

Re: Coarse ellipse and circle defintion

Here's the macro, if interested: deviation_in_mm = 0.03 sel = FreeCADGui.Selection.getSelectionEx() sel = [s.Object for s in sel] for o in sel: bb = o.Shape.BoundBox devn = deviation_in_mm/((bb.XLength+bb.YLength+bb.ZLength)/3)*100 o.ViewObject.Deviation = devn o.ViewObject.hide() o.ViewObject.show(...

Re: Coarse ellipse and circle defintion

I have tried. I raised it in steps up to 10% but the file is apparently still too large (1.7 Mb). Then do this: select the final shape, and export it in ".brep" format. If the resulting brep file is still too big, zip it. If still to big, use file sharing service like dropbox or google dr...

Re: Goods and bads: OCCT 7.0.0 vs OCCT 6.8.0

Wires are quite a bit more troublesome, because order is important. I'm not sure if non-manifold wires are supported by OCC in general...

yes, still points are removed by section plane. Yorik said it's a coin bug most likely, so I don't know what to do about it.
