Re: rotating a 3D drawing

I was using a wired mouse and I was able to click and hold on the drawing space and was able to rotate the drawing on all 3 axis any which way I pleased. I switched to a wireless mouse and now I can't do that anymore. Any ideas on why and is there a keyboard shortcut that does the same thing?? Than...

Thanks Norm and others, I'll lock the topic in a few days so you can have a chance to fix anything first if someone finds anything, let me know if you want it locked sooner.

Re: Sketcher mini-features

Well, if I'm using save-as, I am likely wanting to save a file with a different name than what it used to be. Hence pre-filling the old one doesn't make much sense. Most of the time I am using saveas to save a different version of the same thing, hence typically I want the same file name but add/ed...

Re: Torus/Cylinder Union Problem

oddly importing the OpenSCAD script and immediately forcing a recompute does not work. The recompute only fixes something if the underlying cause of the problem is changed, and then it can be repaired/recreated by recompute. Note that this sort of issue with tangent and coplanar surfaces and boolea...

Re: Crash, probably related to chamfering

I filed a bug, and I've been asked to also open a topic here, so here we go. The bug report: 0002992 It seems like anything that causes a recalculation (even adding a construction line, without closing the sketch) leads to a SEGV. cm. For further reference, please post and discuss your possible bug...

Re: Move or delete holes

I am on a phone so can't be specific or test your file. However in general terms in PartDesign, you would have to delete or edit the feature you want to change and the redo your model from that point on wards. All solid features after the first one you need to change need to manually have their sket...

Re: Lines in Perpendicular Plane and Attached to Pad Face

RE: FreeCad Version 0.17. Is 0.17 still in Beta? Is it relatively stable? If 0.17 is in Beta, is there an official release date or an approximate time when the yearly upgrade is released? Good to test 0.17 but don't use for important work, there is no guarantee that further development will not bre...

Re: Modifying SolidWorks model in FreeCad?

Thanks for the quick response. Lesson learned about importing from commercial systems. I will mess around with the clone / scale tools to see if I can accomplish my goal in that manner. This forum is a great place to learn CAD and I cannot thank all the developers and contributors enough for their ...

Re: Export (attached) as DAE file crashes FreeCAD

FreeCAD starts to use up all my RAM at an astonishingly fast rate. Oh dear, your poor RAM. By the way, what is his name? Ok it's not a Ram exactly but I just got a new young billy goat, he is now named Charlie Clive Junior and he is so quiet and adorable. My children took him for a ride in the whee...
