Re: Today GSOC 2017 officially started (they're accepting Org applications)

Hello all, we now officially selected the students and proposals we like to work with. As always this was a hard choice and needed some compromises. Google will announce the accepted proposals in roughly a week, at May 4 16:00 UTC.We are not allowed to share any information about that, so please no ...

Re: "Solid" clipping plane

Very nice progress, impressive! I imagine if this is controlled by the Part viewprovider one could enable th esolid clipping really only for solids, and not shells. That would be wonderful as this gives realistic results and a good debug possibility

Re: Need help scripting Part.makeCompound with ViewObject

Shaded is a display mode that only presents faces. Lines are not shown in this mode (as they have no surface). Hence you just need to change the display mode to something else and everything will reaper, or just don't set it at all, as the default will show the lines too.

Re: "Solid" clipping plane

I'm not really sure, I'm not very familiar with OpenGL. But i always thought that the opengl clipping works on the whole scene. Don't know how coin does handle it with it's clipping. But would be nice if you find a way to make this work :)

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

calling ickby I was just wondering, how were you planning to identify and reference parts of primitives like cube, sphere etc? Occ offers special methods for primitives, cube for example allows to retrieve all faces like top, bottom etc. In my data structure i planned to use the "name" at...

Re: Developer Feature: Extensions

It should be possible to make it dynamic. It came to my mind too, but never tried it as I don't needed it. I think the main issue you will face is the python interface. Currently an added extension exposes all its methods to the extended object. You need to ensure they get removed again when the ext...

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

Th eexample you posted is a tricky one. I added the id's that would be generated in my approach to your picture. To answer your question: no, d would not be equal c, their construction history is different. naming.png Actually in my current approach with hashes this example would be difficult, as af...

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

.Glad you brought up reordering as I am a fan also. You are thinking my design won't work for reordering? Referencing my drawing, Why can't I move blend right after box? That would work i suppose. I thought about the case where the feature after blend is moved in front of it (in case the selection ...
