Re: planet.freecadweb.org - what sites would you add to it if it existed?

Hi Kunda1. Based on my experience this is how it works. Planet is made available by the project. After interested parties express the desire to be added to (or sometimes to be removed from) the Planet. Usually by agreeing to some common sense guidelines set by the project. P.S. As the Planet is miss...

Re: Text output (mainly stderr) from macros

I don't think it would be any stranger than the Report View. But, that's not the main point of #4. I was suggesting that if the setting to redirect errors/output to report view is turned ON, then errors/output from the Python Console should appear in the Python Console AND in the report view. As th...

Re: Subfolder for Python modules

It seems like FreeCAD modules aren't required to have both an init and a GUI init module. Right now it' pretty crude, but simple, if an Init.py or InitGui.py exists in a modules then they are being executed by the relevant (non-)GUI FreeCAD init script. I think that even though changing this would ...

It would be bit strange wouldn't it. If the code not interpreted in the Python console would redirect the output to the Python console?

Re: Question about Part Feature

I guess it depends on the design intent: Part.png Assembly.png Potential user facing confusion therefore can't be easily resolved. P.S. As i was thinking if this would be Assembly feature it might make sense to move it in Assembly workbench. In PartDesign workbench user would therefore insert a Part...

Re: Question about Part Feature

Onshape folks would probably call it part studio ;) Anyway, I think we should not complicate too much with naming and not go in to too strict, locked down workflows. My question has nothing to do with locking down the workflow. It's about determining what exactly is the Part feature in PartDesign N...

Re: Question about Part Feature

On the plus side when looking at it we see it the same way. On the down side the level of confusion amazes me. I'd say, both. It's a Part, which is itself an assembly of parts. If only it could be that simple. Assembly shouldn't be called a Part in my opinion. That by itself introduces confusion bey...

This is what puzzles me:

Part feature with added 2 Body features. Is this a Part or an Assembly?

P.S. Due to missing Revolve feature i settled for linear guide.

Re: appimage

Hi Kunda1.

Thanks for confirming. Reinstalling Firefox didn't fix the problem for Firefox?

P.S. If this is related to some bug on certain Linux distribution i am not exactly sure on how much sense does it make to investigate it from AppImage point of view.

Is current PartDesign NEXT Part feature equivalent of a Part or of an Assembly or both?
