Re: [Ubuntu Daily PPA] Transitioning to OCCT7, VTK7...

Why netgen version to use is 5.3.1 ? Mainly because we have a working patch, this is what the OSX builds are using. On Win NG 6.x uses C++ features not supported by our current VS2013 compiler. After FreeCAD is ported to Python3 in may make sense to upgrade because NG 6.x python bindings can be bui...

Re: [Ubuntu Daily PPA] Transitioning to OCCT7, VTK7...

The sed command I added is to remove libFWOSPlugin.so dependency. I got an error at build telling me the lib cannot be found. Now that is puzzling, because the /debian/patches/nglib-occt7.patch is already supposed to do that. :? It should but it does not since you patch configure file and not confi...

Re: [Ubuntu Daily PPA] Transitioning to OCCT7, VTK7...

I manage to build the packages, I dont know if they are good but I have packages. I just did a checkout from NormandC git repository and modified the following files : I suspect that it's because C++11 isn't enabled. I don't know how to enable it in the debian/rules makefile. +1 To enable it in debi...

Re: Ubuntu PPA Maintenance Coordination

Hi, Normand, I did not ask you to do it and I fully understand your position. ;) If FreeCAD now uses OCCT that is not packaged in official repositories, FreeCAD Ubuntu version will stay stucked to version 0.16 with liboce... I got that kind of problem (but for different reasons) with KiCAd for elect...

Re: Ubuntu PPA Maintenance Coordination

As for: is the plan really to package it for Ubuntu? After all, why not ? The FreeCAD package has nothing to envy to other packages... Its integration and build are smart so doing the same for OCCT is possible. But packaging OCCT was quite long and it needs further tests. According to its licence, ...

Re: [Ubuntu Daily PPA] Transitioning to OCCT7, VTK7...

EDIT: I'm replacing all instances of "x86_64-linux-gnu" with "*". I'll see with pbuilder if it works... +1 I will see to automate that in the script for further needs. This chapter is interesting about that point, just for information : https://wiki.debian.org/Multiarch/Implemen...

Re: [Ubuntu Daily PPA] Transitioning to OCCT7, VTK7...

Before logging off my PC I couldn't resist installing the created packages... One of the first thing I did too !!!  :D :D libopencascade-applicationframework_7.1.0_amd64.deb depends on libopencascade-visualization_7.1.0_amd64.deb. :( Since we don't want to rely on the visualizati...

Re: Default tool disappear in library

Hi,

Thx, I will try that workaround.

It seems it is "just" a display bug then.
