There don't seem to be any DEV packages. http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy/libpyside-dev Thanks Norm Stupid packagemanager...I searched pyside and it does not find that package...I have to search libpyside. I have found this before with other libs, I should have thought of that this time. Its compil...

If you type "Part." in the FreeCAD Python console you will get a pop up with options, and if you hold the mouse over them you get some usually useful tips. For bspline and surface the tip does not say much but it does for bezier. If its any help this is what it looks like beziersurface.png...

NURBS curves and surfaces are supported already by the geometry engine... We just need a bit more GUI tools to handle them, but from python you can already do abaout any kind of nurbs surface you want... Dear yorik could you please send me in the right direction. I have Python 2.7 and all the pyside packages I can find in my package manager. There don't seem to be any DEV packages. The only Pyside packages I have not installed are the ones that say they are for Python3. python-pyside meta package says pyside is version 1.1.0-1 is there anything I should have...

Personalty I think reading a book is a waste of time and money. FreeCAD is an actively developing application, any book is likely to be way out of date. I would 1)read the wiki, 2)follow the forums for a few weeks and read what other people are talking about, 3) look at all the examples posted over ...
