Hi To respond to Marc Bassini 's problem in his messages https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?p=733326&sid=29561a370fb65ebd7282ceacc88635b1#p733326 and https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?p=733235#p733235 I tried to recreate his derrick example using LinkStage's "multisolid" cap...

Re: Assembly3 users, please, come forward and give your opinion!

czinehuba , FBXL5 , bambuko Hi, Could we be the only users of Asm3 ? I have difficulty believing it. I'm disappointed that so few people responded. I used Catia and a bit of SolidWorks in my youth and found Asm3 to have a very similar approach. I agree with using placements when there are no relati...

@kescholm
Merci.
I didn't put the triangle spacers but just a space to replace them.

On the other hand, as there are too many farms and triangles with my approach, I get a headache from hiding the unnecessary ones!
I will post again if I can improve.

My result to compare:

Assembly3 users, please, come forward and give your opinion!

I was attracted from the start by Asm3, but like many I was surprised by the number of constraints available. In reality, I think very few of these constraints are actually necessary. This is what led realthunder to put some of these in an optional toolbar. Recently I tested the possibility of desig...

Re: How to constrain in Assembly3 with two axes or LCS

kescholm As I am curious about the future result, I made a first assembly for the XY plane and I would like to know if the Truss and Triangle components should be assembled like this on the Bracket : Penta1.png I tried from the inside, but there was interference between the different Truss. I also ...

Re: How to constrain in Assembly3 with two axes or LCS

kescholm I don't know what all the elements of the isocahedron are (or should be) for. But in the Master version of FreeCAD, planar shapes are not transmitted as constraint elements with their correct orientation. steps01-02-03.png To avoid these problems, I made a carbon copy of VxyPlane (diagonal...

Re: How to constrain in Assembly3 with two axes or LCS

Hello kescholm , it would be good to know which version of FreeCAD you worked with (master or linkstage). I don't have any errors when rereading the files. A sketch would also allow you to know what the result should look like. Next, some general remarks: - no need to include Body in Parts. - you ca...
