Re: Renaming a wiki page
After the changes, you have to mark the page for translation. Then you can make changes to the translated page. Pages /en are automatically translated I have a slight question regarding this: When I edit a page I mark it for translation, that's ok. But you say that "pages in /en are automatica...

Yes, but after reaching out to him for links to material or anything I didn't hear back.triplus wrote:Indeed. But there is mayor development going on in this area and that is the design work @pablogil is doing.
Do you know where that work is taking place @triplus? Everything I'm finding is quite old.

Re: HELP!!! my 3d view shows nothing
Addendum: Here is an example file with a perfectly valid cube of 1mm to a side but the default fillet of 1mm would lead to un unresolvable form. So the 3D just disappears and panic ensues. In this test file, toggle the visibility of the fillet and the cube and you should see the cube come back. (Not...

Re: HELP!!! my 3d view shows nothing
I find that FreeCAD, when asked to do a fillet or a chamfer for example that would lead to a non-manifold geometry just makes the 3D disappear. Before changing your file, try to go back in the history, for example if the last thing you did was a fillet, hide it (select + space bar), go to the action...

Re: Question on icon colors
Well you see here things become really hard as it's not a clear cut. Lets say i think the same geometry and different color could make sense. Your suggestion goes more in the direction of different geometry and different color. I feel that @pablogil could argue color is not all that important thing...

Re: Question on icon colors
the color is the thing that differentiates them. To change this and remove the color as differentiation factor different solution would need to prevail first. Just changing the color could likely lead to less optimal solution compared to what we have now. Absolutely, the color is definitely necessa...

Re: Question on icon colors
It is only a problem in that it confuses newcomers. Well, one could argue that the whole point of an icon is to reduce the learning curve by condensing an action into something 'iconic' - regardless of experience. Color is for biological reasons not sufficient on its own, and there's also the probl...

Re: Question on icon colors
Then likely the geometry would need to change I would very strongly agree with this. I think you're right that the tango icons are getting quite dated, but the base guidelines are a good foundation and do reflect principles that are much more important than fashion as NormandC has alluded to. I mig...

Re: Question on icon colors
I think using just a color to represent different tools is kind of dangerous ... icons should not include a color in order to identify a command but just shapes and lines. I agree that color should not be depended upon to clarify function, but it can also be a useful indicator when properly used, i...

Re: Part Fuse/ Part Union Gui/Code inconsistencies
It's quite common for the user and developer to have different terms for the same thing and both need to quickly find information, but I don't understand the issue with simply naming the interface as a typical user would expect and in the wiki having either a redirect (as wikipedia does in these sit...
