Re: Elmer Static current equation
Concerning the freetext input, I think the best would e to use the same system as we already have to specify the capacitance matrix in the Eletrostatics equation. So the Material editor would get a field for a file. We already have this feature that you can click on the button in such a file input ...

Re: Missing lines - Section view of multiple bodies
Thanks wandererfan.
Looks like I was not specific enough. I am still looking for a automated solution.
For more complex assemblies manual hatching is cumbersome and error prone.

Re: Missing lines - Section view of multiple bodies
No, all the cut surfaces get the same hatch. How would you decide programmatically which hatch to apply to which face? The only "rule" I know is if it looks funny, change the angle of one of the hatches. Any change on this? I need to make section views of an asm3 assembly. Is there no cha...

Re: GSoC2020, FEM: extend examples
I would love to have this on CalculiX too. That was one of the reason it was not merged fast into master. I wanted somehow to have a look if it would be possible to make it somehow more generally. Making it generally usable would be a big plus. BTW. Is there a own forum topic for the free text inpu...

Re: GSoC2020, FEM: extend examples
8-) I do believe you that this works as you describe. The problems start if you modify your fc-model. That is the reason why someone would use FC with Elmer, you want to create and modify the geometry (and mesh) easily. Otherwise, if your geometry is rock solid than you should use Elmer-GUI because ...

Re: GSoC2020, FEM: extend examples
Another question: Why is the button to Edit the case.sif inactive. Was this a purpose decision or it was just not implemented? Now it is possible to edit the case.sif file. This will also be available in FreeCAD 0.20.1. (the implementation existed already but was apparently never finished despite t...

Re: 3D Printed FreeGrid Storage System
Hi, Only a month ago I did some search for a open version of such a sorting system. 8-) I currently ended up with gridfinity but do also not like the strange values like 42mm and the fact not having access to the model. Do you think you can introduce a switch or input field to change the grid...

Re: GSoC2020, FEM: extend examples
@HoWil , I am currently documenting the solvers, see https://wiki.freecadweb.org/FEM_SolverElmer_SolverSettings and I have 2 questions: 1. why do you set the "Bubbles" parameter by default to False and "Stabilize" to True? The Elmer docs say the opposite: https://www.nic.funet.f...
