Re: Syntax for FEM force constraint parameters

Hello. Using an edge and ticking "reversed direction" first seemed to work, but as i wrote here , calculix seems to have problems in recognizing changes. Better to remove the mesh/constraint or what you want to change, re-apply it, close and re-open FreeCAD , re-activating FEM-Study and re...

Re: Syntax for FEM force constraint parameters

Hello. This will not work. Insert a box or other primitive from the part workbench and do the analysis with these ... [for example i inserted 2 boxes and 1 cylinder and fused them together - see screenshot] Extruding sketches with part or part design will not work. Only primitives with bool operatio...

Re: Syntax for FEM force constraint parameters

Hello sawfish. Welcome to the forum. Since we have an extra sub-forum for FEM you should have posted there. @moderator/admin: could this thread please be moved there ? Thanks ... [Edit] Since the sub-forum is aimed at the DEVELOPMENT of FEM-module this post seems to be better placed here in the User...

Re: Assemble individual parts?

I guess your bracket was designed using part design-workbench. A lot of part design-parts have sketches with 2D-elements constrained to axis (x/y/z). When trying to move or rotate these parts with the appropriate tools in the draft workbench the solver tries to meet all the conditions set and will f...

Re: Assemble individual parts?

Hello scalpel78. The assembly branch will hopefully allow users to use constraints on parts. Just like you do now in the sketcher with 2D elements. But for now you can position your parts. See video here on youtube . You can also use from pulldown-menu in part module-workbench the "make compoun...

Re: FEM Instructions

Good job Bernd ... I meanwhile managed to get the Wiki-Part of the FEM-Workbench cleaned up (thanks to Renatorivo who polished my first efforts ...) Next thing to do would be to correct and complete the FEM-Analysis-Example in the wiki (and to add it to the Tutorial- Category). Maybe this weekend .....

Hallo Tobias.

Re: Tutorials Page

Hello yorik. I just tried to be sure. Small final note: category can be assigned in two ways: 1 by GuiCommand for Command_Reference pages 2 by [[Category: ....]] for others pages, usually at the bottom of the page And both actions are not possible with "editor"-status. You must be admin. H...

Re: stationary conductiononly 2d tempera. field possible in

Hello teobo.

All I know about the programming side comes from this post from jriegel.

ATM I try to update the Wiki-section of the FEM-Workbench and post an example/tutorial of what is already possible
right now but that seems to be quite time consuming ...

Hello tia. After modelling or importing your CAD-Model, there are these steps in Simulation: Preprocessing - defining type of analysis (linear/non-linear/mechanical/thermic/flow ...) - defininig material - defining loads - defining constraints - meshing model - define goals Solver The mathematical S...
