Re: [Discussion] Splitting Draft tools into their own modules
I likely wouldn't move Draft.py to Ext/FreeCAD, due to preserving backward compatibility. Doing that would likely only make sense, if the whole module would get ported. Then likely it would be the other way around. The need to preserve some sort of backward compatibility in Draft.py, leveraging the ...

Re: [Discussion] Splitting Draft tools into their own modules
lol... Edit: Please Triplus, be serious... what do you propose? In short cut the Draft module folder from the Mod location and paste it into Ext/freecad location and start from there. Note that i don't necessarily propose that, but that would need to happen, if we want to say draft module has migra...

Re: [Discussion] Splitting Draft tools into their own modules
I probably missed one or two steps :) ... Can you give a more detailed explanation of what do you propose and which would be the pros (or point to the conversation you are referring)? Lets do the cons first. Currently one opens FreeCAD Wiki or downloads/clones FreeCAD source code and looks inside t...

Re: Discussion: FreeCAD is not ready for 1.0
In addition to agreeing, on what FreeCAD 1.0 development cycle should be about, and recognizing it aligns with the next development cycle, the agreement on time frame needed to achieve it is nearing too: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Enhancement-Proposals/pull/6 That is, it is realistic to expe...

Re: [Discussion] Splitting Draft tools into their own modules
A bit of discussion from here: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Enhancement-Proposals/pull/6 Combined with my current work on accessories menu. I feel that current Draft module restructuring really isn't all that much related to "namespace modules". It is more about making code more main...

Nice.
P.S. Maybe an integration with Arch Texture could be an option:

Re: [Discussion] Preparing for the upcoming v0.19 release
In addition please make an "official statement" about the next release being 0.20 or 1.0 oriented. Some of us have invested a few years of effort in this area. In discussions, aligning opinions, understanding the key points, gathering consensus on what all agree 1.0 should be about. This e...

Note that if you will hover over the navigation indicator for a bit, with mouse, some clues should emerge.kdtop3 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 3:14 pm I have found the documentation page (https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Mouse_Model), but I dislike having to keep going to the manual rather than it being intuitive.

Re: FreeCAD 18.1/Ubuntu 18.04.2. LTS: no workbenches after install
Installing Pyside with pip is in my eyes a no-go as long as you are not working with virtual envs and know what you are doing. So again and again: a distribution should not allow to install different versions of the same package. Using different package-manager it's up to the user to not get himsel...

Re: Frequent FreeCAD crashes.
I was able to complete the task with my part without crash. I will report back if I have further problems. Good to hear that. P.s. if FreeCAD is now considered to be at a stable point, why is the version number so low? 0.19x seems like an alpha-version type number. Why not 1.0? It is what it is, an...
