Re: gettng started
Note I didn't use a circle 'cause half of it would be outside the plane that I want to pocket. See attached project. Can't view files as I am working from my phone. The others have answered most but I thought I would comment on your circle comment, you are wrong, the extra half would just pocket fr...

Re: Editing parts from assembly in STEP-format
But it virtually impossible to do applie that on the more than 1000 parts in the original drawing.... You could split the assembly components into different files if the assembly is so big that it is too slow to work with. If the file is complex enough, you will eventually get to the point where yo...

Re: Pocketing a sphere to make a dome.
Or just sketch an appropriate profile and then rotate, thus making your hollow half sphere in one feature.
Or create your half sphere then sketch a profile, then do a subtractive rotation Groove tool.

I think that this has been a tough year for most of us with COVID and perhaps many of us for other reasons as well. So I hope that most of you will have something positive to be happy abou...

Re: Merry Christmas 2021
Merry Christmas to you all! As I have said almost every (if not every) year, my time zone is UTC +11 with summertime "daylight savings time", so those in the Pacific nations, the Kiwis across the ditch and a few others, get it first ...but then we here in eastern Australia are some of the ...

Re: Per-project metrics
and typing "*25.4" 400 times gets... old. Just replying to that comment.... Well don't then... :) The units system understands and converts display units according to your settings and underneath it is always metric, I think you understand that, however you don't appear to understand that...

Re: What is the correct way to subtract a cube from a ring (newbie)
A Body is just a single contiguous solid, so if the real world object is a single contiguous solid, then just model it in a single Body. You appear to have used a Pad but you appear to want to subtract material, if so you should have just used a Pocket, not a Pad. In PartDesign WB, a boolean is only...
