https://gcc.gnu.org/projects/cxx0x.html looks like c++11 wasn't an accepted switch until 4.7. So 4.6 and earlier you have to use c++0x like you already figured out. Thats also interesting, since VS 2013 also complains about certain constructs in SMESH...
