The problem is that SVGs can't be used for the GUICommand templates. IIRC they can't be resized.

Really? I thought SVG's were by definition fully scalable? I'd love for us to use just one or the other though. I have a script for batch exporting pngs from the icons which I already use for generating my icon previews if it interests anyone.

On the other hand, I talk about clipping issues in svg rendering with mediawiki but FreeCAD's build process seems to dislike clipping paths too so maybe it's a "false problem" and we could just switch to svg like @yorik says

I have a script for batch exporting pngs

To use:
- Enter the folder you want to export
- Run script with the desired output size as a number (16, 32, etc) e.g. ~/scripts/export_png.sh 32 will export them as 32px. Default value is 64 (So if you want them at 64px, just run the script with no variable)
- A folder will be created in your Pictures directory called exportOutput containing all the icons, this gets emptied each time you run the script.
- The filenames have the size appended, script can be edited if this is not desireable.

Requirements: inkscape, bash

Oh, that's a pity, what's the output on the console?
I'm using fairly generic stuff, maybe inkscape is not installed to /usr/bin/ for you.

What does type inkscape give you from a terminal?

I also see I had an absolute reference to my home directory /home/alex/, try using my updated script or changing that line to match your directory structure.

No worries, thanks for helping out with the wiki updates! I did arch and draft today, will try to do one or two more tomorrow.
