Drawing, Draft View of a Arch Section in solid mode has problems

yes i also would have a lot of uses for bitmaps in TechDraw/Drawing pages, like including renderings, or sometimes I do a top-view render of a half-extruded plan, to get some shadows and floor material, then you can put this image behind your plan view
