Hello, I am Manthos from the SatNOGS [1] project. Some of you may have heard about our project from the hackaday prize[2] . We are a teem of space enthusiasts trying to create an open source ground station work. In order to comunicate with satellites you need a device that points an antenna to the satellite, this device is called rotator. From the first days of the project we realized that there isn't any affordable and-or open source antenna rotator. So, we constructed it. We are now at the third version of our hardware. All the designs are made using FreeCAD (0.13, 0.14 and 0.15), are under CERN open hardware license and can be found in your github repositories[3]. Feel free to clone, copy, change or whatever... For more information you can use our community forum[4]

Re: The SatNOGS rotator
An impressive first post, welcome to FreeCAD!
If Elon Musk manages to reduce the launch costs by as much as he predicts, then a group like yours may be close to being able to launch a small satellite some time in the future. I got up early in the morning in my time zone to watch the launch, pity NASA TV was so bad that you could hardly see what was going on and we couldn't tell if the first stage had landed or not for a few hours. The landing of course did turn out to be a very impressive near miss again.papamat wrote:We are a teem of space enthusiast trying to create an open source ground station and network.
