Fitting ellipse to involute

Hi!
I was testing, how well can an arc of ellipse follow an involute. So I constructed a gear.

Note that here, the gears made of that very sketch are shown. There is no true involute on these pictures, sorry!

Then, I was testing, how well do the gears mesh, and arrived at this nice picture:

Not that it is any kind of useful, but looks quite cool IMO 8-)
