Two Speed Transmission

Post by ppemawm »

I am an engineering consultant and infrequently use FreeCAD to create or modify client models for mechanical finite element or computational fluid dynamics analyses. In order to keep my skills current, I create parametric solid model assemblies fairly regularly from drawings found on the interweb. This is an example of an assembly created late last year with V0.15.4671:

Each part was created in-place starting with a sketch at its mating surface. The most difficult part was the main housing due to its many fillets. This is an example where some of the fillets had to be created early in the model history to avoid problems at subsequent feature additions. For those interested in the gory details, the 23 Mb file can be found here:

Many thanks to the developers. The software just keeps getting better!

Awesome! The top of the case has quite insanely complicated filleting, from what I see.

I have often noticed your creations. They are top of the line, and a great inspiration. When I am a bit more experienced I hope to show one of my projects, and I know what level I can try to aim at.
