A few days ago I received a 3D printer, which made possible my long time dream a miniature Mars rover type robot. Before I couldn't get started making it because it was too difficult or too expensive to fabricate the parts. Now I can draw them and print them myself how cool is that!
I started by drawing wheels, inspired by the Mars rover Curiosity. I had some difficulties drawing threads, but I got help from this forum. I'm learning stuff about CAD modelling and 3D printing, it's all very exciting.
I already printed two different versions of wheels, and I'm going to print more different versions to see which work better

Great! I hope you'll consider sharing your files!
Re: 3D printed Mars rover wheels
Cool project, I hope you'll give updates on your progress regularly.
I like that you managed to reproduce the same viewpoint between the picture of the real thing and the screen shot.
A tip: toggle your 3D view to perspective mode with the P key. O returns to the orthographic mode.
I'm on vacation now and I hope to find time to "resurrect" my 3D printer that has been gathering dust for the past 2 years.
