Architecture - Editable Structural Glazing

Post by F_Rosa »

Hello,

Here's a first study of a Structural Glazing parametric file. There is an entry spreadsheet and one of output. Virtually all components, as well as the number of horizontal and vertical modules, are configurable.

This looks real good. It is your first study of this window. I am looking forward to the next version. My advice is split the frames in parts that can be produced in a workshop. The top and bottom parts of the outer frame will than be of one piece

Very good! Excellent example of how you can do very powerful parametric objects without coding...

Hello, good job
I was testing your Structural Glazing and is fantastic.
But if we try to move it it loses the relationship between the parts (it's an old problem) I think you should try to put it in a container? I do not know exactly how, but maybe someone here can help you

congratulations,
Renato

About moving or rotating, inserting the element in a new part of FreeCAD 0.17 you can move and rotate without problem, through the Properties window. I do not deeply immersed in this new version and do not know if this is the correct way to work with the new part. I believe that those developed it can clarify.

I take this opportunity to express the wish that also include any suggestion in this forum for share the files resulting.

Thank you for your comments!

Renato,

There is a way to do the necessary changes for a real work (FreeCAD 0.16): clone and/or make simple copies of the structural glazing, this permits make any changes without problem. Here is a example of cloning (the four horizontal modules façades) and coping (the three modules façades).
