Tuners Cube Trophy 3D printed

Post by r-frank »

Hello.

I decided to buy myself a christmas gift :)
So I did a special version of the Turners Cube with FreeCAD.

I exported it to STL setting the tesselation to 0,05%.
Then i went to the homepage of Meltwerk (belonging to TRINCKLE, who fabricate 3D printers).
> no registration required
> they do ONLY white PLA with selective Laser sintering -> very attractive price
> they deliver via DHL (means i can use the PACKSTATION service in Germany)
> the whole model did cost 41,14 € including handling and shipping
> as you can see from the attached FreeCAD model the height is overall app. 104 mm, so it has a reasonable size
> as you can see from the FreeCAD model i made the bottom hollow to save material and reduce cost
> the model is looking rocking awesome absolute super cool on my desk :ugeek: :ugeek:

Personal thought: the surface does feel a little "rough", like very fine sand paper (with grind 200 or something like that)

That's cool Roland!

But there's something missing on that print... The FreeCAD logo! :P

I'm guessing it's a side effect of the resin being in powdered form. It's probably more precise and smoother than FFF/FDM though.
