Hi there.
I was examining more ways to do technical animations of mechanisms.
So i decided to investigate the possibilities of V-Rep.
V-Rep is aimed at more robotic oriented academic people who want to study movements of
mechanisms.
The Pro Edu version is free for personal use.
So i set up a small assembly in FreeCAD of a four-bar-linkage.
I exported every solid as STL to V-Rep.
Then I set up the joints and got stuck ...
I called for help in the coppellia forum and the friendly administrator explained that due to the not-so-accurate STL-Files
I had to use as last joint NOT a revolute joint BUT a combination of prismatic and spheric joint to compensate relative
movements of the parts.
After setting up a rotary movement of the first revolute joint i got a first animation of my mechanism
I didn't investigate further because i found the defining of the "actuating" force/moment way too complex
for a simple hobby cad user as me.
I attach the zipped V-Rep file if anybody wants to play around with it.
