Hey,
I thought I'd repost here my final result from this topic.
I succeeded in modeling a solid threaded bolt. The thread is M6 coarse, length 8mm (not sure it exists!) because I started with a 10mm long helix and I had to cut both ends. The head was then modeled with PartDesign and Sketcher tools, and fused with the thread. I'm happy with the result, although it's been mentioned that the boolean operations do not always produce good results, as Open CASCADE is buggy in this regard.
You can download the file and do whatever you want with it!

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
Hi,
Werner helped me modify the script so it can be used with objects created in the GUI. It's much easier to use now!
Here's a twisted bar (we used to make those, among many other more complex metal products with either metal profiles or sheetmetal, at my previous job):
Here's the original topic where a download link to the FCStd file is available.
And that script can do any sweep you want, not only helices. I've tried it with a Draft Bspline as trajectory. This opens whole new possibilities, while we wait for this kind of tool to be added in the partDesign workbench.
