hI Turboss:

I am using Freecad 0.15.

Gimpt 2.8.

Be careful. use the gimp as the last before exporting to .bmp.
once you are happy with your image, open it with the gimp.
chose "image/mode/greyscale" if you do so you will end up with a 8 bits.

then export to bmp. no advanced tools. just export it.

The greyscale push it in 8bits mode.
the macro fctexture read 8bits t ! do not worry.

However if you try to set it as 24 bits or anything else (8 /16 24 or even 32 bits greyscale) I got the same problem as yours!

i do not know which magic is under that but I can tell you it worked exactly like I said for me.

If you cannot please insert your image in the next post as a png I will try myself ;)

best Regards

Ok

in the 0.15 stable version on windows 7 worked like a charm

so this seems to be a bug with the development version 0.16 from ppa

where is a good place to make a report ?

thx!

Maybe you need a special feature, go into Macros_recipes and Code_snippets, Topological_data_scripting.

Hi Mario,

attached the VRML files exported from PartToVRML macro generated from Texture and CreaLoft Macros
Ruled_Surface.zip
(184.62 KiB) Downloaded 73 times
Extrude.zip
(294.06 KiB) Downloaded 76 times
Please consider that the macro exports the VRML file and doesn't create the vrml inside FreeCAD

Hi Mario,

this VRML Macro has been done to create wrl models for kicad from FreeCAD

the standard way of exporting vrml from FC will generate a big and quite complex VRML structure
Moreover the VRML exported with this macro is Blender compatible, so now it is possible to easily render kicad boards and parts in Blender
as e.g. in this picture
Image

this macro is also useful for MCAD bi-directional collaboration between Kicad and FreeCAD and it will be integrated in my kicad StepUp project
https://youtu.be/Ukd47VXYzQU

Of course it is possible to use vrml files also for 3D printing, but that was not my primary intent...

keep in touch :)
