In Draft Workbench there is a converter Draft<->Sketch. Since a recent augmentation it can convert B-Splines as well.

Ok, using Windwos lastest version works, wow this is an great feature! Something very useful, a few months ago I was changing between Inkscape and FreeCAD to make any changes in a sketch I was copying from and image; this is time-saving.chrisb wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2017 4:27 pm Please try again with the most recent 0.17 version and report back if you still encounter empty sketches.

You name it! I am much more familiar with the sketcher which makes editing an imported svg so much easier.

This is very cool!! I am happy somebody took care of the Draft python end...
now you are only missing the block constraint, so that when you import it you can lock it in place

Re: FC v0.17dev: Part Design Next Usecases and Best practices
I just want an interface that is actually usable for someone who hasn't tried a feature before.
I'd like documentation that actually explains how to do get freecad to do some thing (today's case was sweep/loft) rather than pages of technical discussion about its implementation and limitations. I get that the forums are helpful, but I'd like to not have to resort to them for what should be simple things.

Re: FC v0.17dev: Part Design Next Usecases and Best practices
Do you understand that no one is paid to write the program or its documentation, and that those very few who do, do it in their spare time? That a very minuscule minority of FreeCAD users give back and help the project? That they are already doing the best that they can?

I do. I think it would be in the project's best interests to have better documentation and better ease of use.
FWIW, I tried to edit the wiki pages but couldn't because there's a preregistration process. I couldn't lodge a bug report because the link to the documentation topic on the bug tracker didn't work. When I tried to set up an account on the bug tracker, it failed. That's when I resorted to the forum.
