Hello
I can't find any tutorials about how to make a rose. I have problems creating those curves.
So I was wondering if somebody could make a tutorial of how to make a rose or simply just a leaf with such curves.
I'll be really grateful for any help doing this.

Re: Making a rose
Hello Joakim.
Welcome to FreeCAD and the forum.
Since lofting with more than two sketches is only supported by newest 0.17 development snapshot,
i would suggest different workflow for first approch for a leaf ...
1) in FreeCAD switch to Part Design Workbench and create a sketch on XY-Plane (see Video)
2) use "Revolution" to create first object
3) create sketch on XY-plane
4) use pad to get second independant solid
5) Switch to part workbench
6) use booelan common operation on both solids.
Part (Video) was done using SolidWorks, so it looks a Little different, but all should be doable with FreeCAD Roland

No!! Lofts were introduced to PartDesign workbench in v0.17. But in Part workbench, multi-profile lofts have been around for ages...r-frank wrote:Since lofting with more than two sketches is only supported by newest 0.17 development snapshot

Yes you are right, sorry, i wasn't clear enough.DeepSOIC wrote:No!! Lofts were introduced to PartDesign workbench in v0.17. I meant that above is shown a "0.16 - Part-Design approach"
Another way would be using Loft with part-workbench 0.16 or part design workbench 0.17.

Re: Making a rose
Hello Joakim,
You're not starting with a simple project. IMO modeling a rose would be easier with a mesh modeler like Blender. This is stretching any CAD software's capabilities.
@ Roland
This revolution approach produces leafs that are not very "organic".
See this other approach: http://www.deelip.com/?p=1017
