Lag while using a SpaceBall

Hi,
A new problem I encounter: I use a SpaceNavigator with FreeCAD, and it seems to just be laggy when I use it with multiple axes at the same time (dominant mode is fine). I don't have this problem using the mouse. Something strange is that it does not happen when I have a popup opened, like you can see in this video: https://youtu.be/4gL79lYaL1k (I'm only using the SpaceNavigator in the video).
Maybe some things are not rendered when a popup is opened to let the CPU breathe a little but there's only the grid shown here so I don't think that's the issue.

I don't have neither a mac nor a space mouse (and even no regular mouse ), so I can't possibly debug it.
I watched your video, and it made me ask, have you tried if the slowdown disappears if you move the mouse cursor away from the screen, so that it doesn't trigger preselection highlighting? If so, you can try switching off the preselection highlight to get rid of the lag.

Well now I cannot reproduce the problem… ><' It's only laggy if I move using the SpaceBall while hovering icons or faces/edges of my solid that gets highlighted…
