Re: Trouble with tutorials
Hello Cyber3DK,
Welcome here.
You bring valid points. But someone will have to volunteer to take care of updating the tutorial.

Good thing I've got 10 minutes of free time right now. I'll clean up my mess.NormandC wrote: But someone will have to volunteer to take care of updating the tutorial.
Cyber3DK, I apologize for being ambiguous in some parts of the tutorial.
Noted. I'll add more detail to this instruction.Cyber3DK wrote:Recommendation: extend line "2. Switch to the Sketcher Workbench" by adding the clause "“by using the drop_down on the toolbar in whose bubble_help is "Switch between Workbenches".

Recommendation: After the lines "Construction geometry is used as guides for the creation of complex profiles. To access it, we need to enable Construction mode .
Select Sketcher ToggleConstruction.png Construction Mode"
Add "Toggle the Construction Mode" until all the geometric shapes are white".

Recommendation: After the lines "Sketcher geometry is used to create the closed profiles required to perform 3D operations in the PartDesign workbench.
Select Sketcher Circle.png Circle"
... change the color of the circle from grey to blue.

*) I believe the icon should show a blue circle because the goal is a "regular circle" not a "construction circle".

Help, Create 3D Text #937
Specific problem: the “object Extrude” cannot be found in the “tree view”.
Background: I have followed, to the best of my ability, the steps in the “Draft ShapeString Tutorial” (https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Draft_S ... g_tutorial ). But I get get perform the step “Make sure object ‘Extrude’ is selected in the tree view …”.
The attached file Tutorial_40_281753-Mar.FCStd is, I believe, the result of successfully completing all the steps before the section “Create 3D Text”.
The attached file Screen_281753-Mar.png is the result of completing all the steps before the line beginning “Make sure object ‘Extrude’ is selected in the tree view …”.
The problem can be reproduced.
Apologies: I don't know how to insert the (dot)PNG file here (maybe). Please see the full report.
Thanks for considering this issue.

Re: Trouble with tutorials
Hello.
a) the chamfer in your Picture does not seem to have 5 mm
b) "Use Part Extrude-Tool ...", well, that means selecting the shapestring-object in the tree-vie, clicking on the Icon and
filling in all Parameters AND CLICKING ON OK (see Part Extrude)
c) then you should have an object "Extrude" in your tree
