I had heard it hard to draw text in freecad. So I test it. Inkscape is goooood at create vector, my most favorite soft.
I found that due to the complexity of the path, it led to errors. After several different combinations of tests, I found the law, as far as possible a single word combination(union), and then do extrude, if the result is not correct, depart it, do extrude, then make an union.

Re: Test Text from SVG
Have you tried Draft ShapeString?
Re: Test Text from SVG
Yes, I had. T,E and S,S show nothing here.
Re: Test Text from SVG
When you create a Draft ShapeString you have to finish all inputs with the return-key aka enter!

Re: Test Text from SVG
thanks. chrisb and NormandC.
OK I know it now.
choose correct view first. otherwise the based axis would be strange.
With annotation:
press twice enter....
paste font name, adjust font size, then I can see text.
text can not been made as pad.
With ShapeString:
press enter....
the last step, select font file. filename can not with unicode character except ASCII.
But it too strange use this method to finish an operate. Why not put all need parameters in one box.

Because it needs a highly motivated unpaid(!) developer to do so.eexpss wrote:Why not put all need parameters in one box.
