Hi Brian.

Something special about the drawing workbench is that the on-screen-representation is not recomputed/updated very often automatically.
For example deleting a draft dimension will most likely not update the view.
The manual recompute button (the light blue "ball" Icon) will be highlighted and you have to click it to manually update the page.

I even installed the macro ForceRecompute and adopted the habit of running the macro as often as possible when doing changes in the drawing.

Is my FreeCad version out dated? If so, how do I make it current in Ubuntu?

Thank you, Roland. The Recompute button is not highlighted, but I have clicked it anyway. There is no change to the drawing.

The current stable version is 0.16 revision 6700 (0.16.6700) published on April 07, 2016. Anything lower is outdated and won't benefit from many features and bug fixes.[/quote]
Since writing this post there were many bug fix releases, the latest revision is 6707.

I am certain that you added the Daily Builds PPA instead of the Stable Releases PPA. The former contains an old 0.16-dev version just before the official 0.16 release.

If you are using the stable PPA, you haven't updated in quite a while! The latest revision is 6707. Those are 4 useful bug fixes.

Normand, you were correct. I have added the stable ppa:

OS: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.16.6707 (Git)
Build type: None
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-16
Hash: 5465bc47c95db45e0be85dc0e2872419efadce0f
Python version: 2.7.12
Qt version: 4.8.7
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 6.8.0.oce-0.17

However, this has not changed the situation as far as I can tell. Still unable to propagate the changed text from the Editable data tab to the drawing.

Edit: I have created a new part drawing and the process works! Guess I'll just have to redo the first one. Thank you all for the help; it is much appreciated.

Brian,

I have the same version as you on the same Ubuntu release, and I don't have an issue.

As soon as I close the List dialog, the template updates.

Would you please make sure the Report view is visible at the bottom of the FreeCAD window (go to Views --> Panels) as well as the Python console (same menu), and make a new attempt, and see if there's any output in either of those two, and paste the content here?

Normand, please see above. The process works fine for a new drawing, so I think I'm able to proceed. Thank you for the support.
