Conformal meshing

Post by athuls »

Hello, I am trying to mesh a 2D object as shown in the figure. The different regions are colour coded. This has to be fed into a FEM solver. When I perform meshing on this geometry using GMSH mesher available in FreeCAD, I am not getting a conformal mesh. The mesh looks like the one attached. Meshing the entire region also did not help me in getting a conformal mesh. Since I am new to this software I am not sure whether I am doing all the things correctly. Please help me to solve this problem regarding the generation of conformal mesh.

Thank you.

- apply PartWB:BooleanFragments to your faces
- apply PartWB:CompoundFilter afterwards
now the shape is ready for meshing
