problem when I move or copi a group of lines

Post by bitacovir »

Hi my problem is when I try to move or copy a group of lines or profile (polyline) and the results is a mess of points that they end in other positions. Here there is a couple of screenshots showing the problem:
The first is the profile that I want to move (highlighted as green) to the other side of the wall.

This is the result, after the movement. The vertex are moved no synchronised.

I am working on FreeCAD version 0.14 in Ubuntu 14.10

which 0.14? From where? Please post Help about FreeCAD data. If you don't know how, it is explained in the first announcement topic in the help forum. Named
IMPORTANT: Please read first before asking for help

If you are talking about the 0.14 from the Ubuntu repositories (it was only ever a development version), then upgrade to one of the PPA versions, I would recommend the "daily" PPA so you can get all the latest bug fixes and updates.

It seems to work for me, but I don't know exactly how you tried to move yours.

Could you post a file that demonstrates the problem, and the exact steps you use to get this problem?

The freecad package from the Ubuntuy 14.10 repository is broken. It's not related to the problem discussed here, but other problems (Start Center missing, thumbnails not working).

I have not yet uploaded a stable package to our Stable Releases PPA for 14.10. Utopic will not be officially out for another 3 days.

Thanks for the response. But sorry. I do not have a file with the problem. Because I moved on in the drawing. This issue happened 3 times with other polylines, so I changed these profiles to surfaces with Draft Upgrade tool to move them and extrude them. I tried to replicate the problem but I could not. Anyway, the problem happened when I made this polylines with Draft Wire tool, rotate them to 90degrees and move them with Draft Move tool. If I found the problem again I will share a file.

This is really weird! When moving an object, we just change its placement, we don't touch its internal shape, so I don't understand how vertices can have moved!! If you manage to reproduce that, I'd be very curious to have a look...
