face selection

Post by ywusa2002 »

Hello,

How could I activate face selection mode?

I created a cube, but I want to select the face, not the object, how could I do it?

Thanks a lot,
James

Just hover with the mouse over the face in the 3d view and click on it.

But it will only select the whole object, NOT the face.

You can select a single face of an object, like Werner explained, but there are actually few commands that can do something with only one face selected. Most freecad work on whole objects.

Editing subcomponents of objects is at the moment not possible. If you need to do something with one face only, (rotate, move, etc) you must "explode" the object first (with the "Downgrade" tool for example)
