Error in 2D View of a simple imported STEP
Hi all!
first of all, FreeCAD is GREAT.
I've this problem: I import in FreeCAD a STEP file created with an other software. Then I go to Drawing module, I create a new page and I insert the view of my Part. Unfortunately, the View icon shows the red exclamation mark.. The Part is a very simple object (I think..). Here the result of "Part -> Check Geometry":
Unnamed.Part__Feature:
VERTEX : 2
EDGE : 3
WIRE : 3
FACE : 3
SHELL : 1
SOLID : 1
COMPSOLID : 0
COMPOUND : 0
SHAPE : 13
Can somebody help me?
Thank you!!!

Re: Error in 2D View of a simple imported STEP
Dear Uwe,
I literally can't believe my eyes...
Simply, if I repeat the instructions of the video, I obtain the red icons on Views and no images on the drawings..
Look at the attached image...
Which FreeCAD version are you using?
Any idea?
iari

Maybe you need a special feature, go into Macros_recipes and Code_snippets, Topological_data_scripting.
My macros on Gist.github here complete macros Wiki and forum.

Re: Error in 2D View of a simple imported STEP
There is clearly a problem because your template does not show properly, none of the borders are visible in your screen capture.
Have you tried another template? You can switch template by clicking on the "Page" folder in the Model tree, then in the "Data" tab under the tree, click on the "Template" field; a button with three dots will appear, click on it to browse and select another template. Then click on the Refresh button.
Also,
Can you report what it says?

Also,
If you place your mouse pointer over the red exclamation mark, a message will show up in the window border at the bottom left.iari wrote:Unfortunately, the View icon shows the red exclamation mark..
