Hello.

Just found this (german) film on Youtube Projektgehäuse kopieren.

For the non-german audience:
This guy is downloading a 3D-File, altering it for 3D-printing purposes.
But he also raises during his speech some thoughts about copyright issues.

Normally nowadays companies are publishing 3D-Data for the engineer to have a first look in CAD if the product
will fit and fullfill all needs.
But if I have the 3D Data I can print it out myself on a 3D Printer, right ?
No need to buy it from the manufacturer ...
As long as 3D-Printing will be more expensive compared to the industrial mass production of parts this is not a
big issue ...
But what for the future ?
What if there is an error in the 3D data, you print it and the part breaks leving people injured ...
That raises questions about copyright law, responsibilty, data security and so on ...

Very nice! FreeCAD is spreading very quickly and having it taught in schools will accelerate that.

Yes, I use FreeCAD in school the 3rd year
and some of my colleagues use it too.

I'm optimistic and think FreeCAD will come into Bavarian schools next years.
Its already on the official software stick which is distributed to the students.

FreeCAD can all what I have to teach and has great opportunities
also for teaching programming, simulation and mathematics.

What kind of school is this? I've seen young children using RPI, FreeCAD, 3D printer etc. in other tweets. Impressive.
