the dwg converter is a python wrapper for the everydwg program from the opendwg alliance. The idea is that you can right-click a dwg file, click convert and you get a dxf file. The thumbnailer is just a small python app that creates a thumbnail image of a dxf file, so they appear like that in your file manager. And yes, almost everything I do has a free license. There is no link yet, because it's not finished... But I'll post here when it is, just a bit of patience...

But look also at this page, it's about the same thing: http://sd-2469.dedibox.fr/ar/modules/ar ... rydwg.html

You're doing it!
But is it all on your shoulders?
(May the Lord keep you in good health... :) )

Okay, I have two little apps working: a dwg-to-dxf converter and a dxf thumbnailer.
Look here for download & instructions: http://yorik.uncreated.net/linuxstuff.html
Both are for linux only. I still didn't look at how to register the thumbnailer with nautilus but will do ASAP.
