Here is a list about monthly downloads of cad-programs form a German computer magazine. These are the downloads over the links they offer. FreeCAD is number one.

And they offer the current stable 0.16.6706 ! - so I thought; but there is the 32 bit version (where the number of downloads has to be added) but that is the known slightly buggy version 016.6704

FreeCAD and LibreCAD hold 5 places in the top 10. Goes to show that many people do value open source software.

I saw it coming ... next level in Autodesk policy ... (Partly) shutdown of 123D.com and focussing on TinkerCAD.

Guys, go read the comments on that blog. They show exactly why nobody should rely on freeware from big commercial companies. School teachers who build a curriculum on 123D are left hanging after Autodesk shuts down the service!

Since we have no proof to the contrary, we must assume these new numbers are legit!

This steady increase is baffling as well as extraordinary.
