Need informations about fonctionality

Dear All,

I need to implement a 3D scanner in my company.
My objective is to mesure the size of a product and extract and use it in a soft to have a real vision of the metrics (sizes).

Do you know if FreeCAD can do that ?

Welcome to the forum.

If your 3D scanner has an interface to write the scanned data in a mesh format to a file, then you can start with importing the mesh.
if your scanner produces "only" images with depth(z) information, you can import these data (after some reformating) as point cloud.

In fact, I haven't buy the 3D scanner yet.

Before I really want to be sure to choose the good 3D scanner and be sure that I could use it in order to have the exact measure of the object I scan.
