just use imperial decimal.

I have switch the general measurement to inches but when I enter it such as 1 " it sometimes converts it to thous?
Its pretty annoying as I'm trying to teach myself to use the software to draw parts. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am trying unsuccessfully to convert FreeCAD to imperial decimal. In Edit>Preferences>Units I have set to Imperial decimal, but FreeCAD seems to be stuck in metric. Have tried applying then restarting the software, but both the view window dimensions and the cursor position are still given in millimeters.

Is it even possible to use FreeCAD in a unit other than millimeters?

Preferences
Pick UNITS tab at the top
Units settings
User system: [ ]

remember to click............... [ Apply]
works on ver. 14 and 16 Linux Mint 17.2
