Splashscreen

Post by psicofil »

Hi all, I share with you a splash screen I made for FreeCAD. Hope you like. Other models can find them here:

https://plus.google.com/114929116607006 ... TRAvpe9ibQ

I think it would be good to create a section in the forum for the artistic work done for freecad (icons, splash screen, promotional covers, etc.)

sorry for my bad english

Yes i suggested something like that in the past but i guess more users like you (with examples) will have to do the actual persuading. ;)

Nice looking splash screen! Will it be used for 0.14 Production Release?

Excellent! I also vote for it for 0.14 release. Only thing I would change, is to remove the wood texture, so all that is shown on the image is produced 100% from freecad. But it's just my opinion.

We could hold a contest for the splashscreen, each time we approach a release, like they do with blender, it's cool...

Thank you. The background is thanks to Yorik ;) .

I think I could do the same previous whit povray, but not how to to put background images in povray, I have to find out :?: .

If we open a competition to splash for FreeCAD 0.14 release?

Sure there are many designers who can contribute their ideas.

Here's another idea, this time made with povray:

I would remove the logos as seen on first splash.

Hello everyone. Again I was working on an option for the splashscreen or a promotional image of FreeCAD.
In Google+ FreeCAD I posted some new ideas, where there is a splash for each module.

With the comments received I decided to use the logo done by Mikeo. In the image below I give you 3 options, one with the logo of Mikeo, another that I made (the ugliest I have to admit) and one with the modified version mikeo.

Also I leave the .svg file, if you want to make your own version:

The third one works better on a dark background. I wonder if it wouldn't work better with the red color of "CAD" being the same as the logo. Right now it's much darker.
