Hi All,
I also use SimpleScreenRecorder and it is simple but very powerfull.
To fine tune my videos I use Kdenlive, easy, very powerfull.
Both softs support 1080 HD format.
If you want to see the result, see this videos foe example:

Re: FreeCAD Video Tutorials
Let's see if I can remember, that was back when I was using XP...jmaustpc wrote:what screen capture/video applications did/do you two use for the videos you have made?
- Display Keystrokes / Mouse Clicks: osdHotkey
- Screen Capture: Cam Studio (Like Roland, I liked their lossless codec too.)
- Video Conversion: HandBrake
- Audio Editor: WaveShop (mostly to crop out silence, normalize)
- Presentation: ActivePresenter
Yes, and some of the software above is Windows only.jmaustpc wrote:I think Bejant did most of his back when you were on Winxp
To display keystrokes I'd like to try Screenkey; if there was a Windows version I would probably have used it instead of osdHotkey. But now I think Blender has the best Keystroke / Mouse Click display; it would be nice to have that in FreeCAD too.jmaustpc wrote:did you find something you liked in Ubuntu?
I've used both Kazam and RecordMyDesktop for screen captures, but for me the way to select a recording area in RecordMyDesktop is unintuitive.
I have OpenShot for video editing but haven't used it much yet.
That's a good idea, it could help shorten the learning curve for creating video tutorials.jmaustpc wrote:Perhaps we could set a page in the wiki with some useful tips on video creation so we can find it again easily?
