Hello everybody, I'm just posting this information about a gear generator I saw on the GrabCAD website (disclosure - I have nothing to do with grabcad other than being on their mailing list).

Anyway, a chap from GrabCAD (Blake Courter) posted about his struggling with generating 3D models of various types of gears. This is the link, but you have to log in to grabCAD to read it: http://blog.grabcad.com/blog/2014/10/14 ... -257752137

Anyway, I emailed him to ask him if would be interested in helping the FreeCAD community with gears. He has declined to get involved directly in the coding, but he pointed me to his github https://github.com/bcourter/SpaceClaim- ... aster/Gear and he also said that if anyone wanted to ask him about his gear generating code, I could pass along his email. Obviously I'm not going to just post it here on the forum.
