Array/Symmetry in Sketcher

Post by abdullah »

Hi folks,

Usually I do not make feature announcements. In fact these are already for a while in master. But today I came across an opportunity to use them, when modelling a dial indicator.

This is the result:

What I did is:
1. Create a rectangle 6x1,5 mm
2. Create an array of 9 elements in a direction substantially vertical
3. Fix the angle to 90º
4. Add a distance from external geometry to fix them in place (2mm from a vertical external geometry line)
5. Add a symmetry constraint of two extreme points with respect to the X axis.
6. Select the whole and create a mirror of those elements about the Y axis.
7. Add a symmetry constraint like the one in 5 to the the right array (result of the mirror).

That's it!!
