How I cant write Point cloud file from my X,Y Coordinates (above) to Import Point Cloud?
To import a sample point cloud:
- download from the following post the file terrain-points-fc.asc.txt, viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12796&p=103467#p103467
- remove the .txt from the file
- Start FreeCAD -- Change to workbench points
- Menue Points --> import point cloud --> terrain-points-fc.asc
- Menue View --> Standard views --> Axonomoetric
- Menue View --> Standard views --> Fit all

To import your point cloud, the file should have the same format than terrain-points-fc.asc
If you have the points in three columns in LibreOffice (see screen for terrain-points-fc.asc), you can export them from LibreOffice by:

File --> save as --> deactivate automatic file extension (use asc) --> activate filter preference --> put in some file name (mypoints.asc) --> save --> a pop up comes up --> change span separator from comma to space and click ok.
For me the file has the same format than terrain-points-fc.asc

great new tool, gives more flexibility ...

5 782581.262 409734.580
6 782598.350 409749.528
what do these data mean?
Is there a function to calculate Latitude and Longitude

Another question/idea:
If we have the data in a libre office sheet we can select, copy and past it into a FreeCAD multiline text widget and then process it.
This is more comfortable than the way through a file.

I added a TextEdit widget.
If there are data in it, these data (instead of the file) are processed
Syntax: lat,lon-Values separated by spaces

Once working on the geodata wb I have added a new feature: import gpx-tracks

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_Exchange_Format
I use my Garnim Etrex to record gpx tracks (this is possible with smartphones too)
The new dialog loads the tracks into a FreeCAD document with osm data.

so walking along important lines can generate topological models. post processing these data will be subject of the reconstruction wb.

A short demo of my afternoon trip: https://youtu.be/j-vXr3iZ15Q

Yes, the data in the background buildings and the (blue) highways are from osm.
in the top view the ways map to the track,
(in this photo not because the ways are 2D and the track 3D)

What you can do with it:
Buy a farm, load the geodata of the area of your farm into FreeCAD
The run with the gpx tracker through your garden and track your new ways and the silhouettes of your wished buildings.
Load the tracks into FreeCAD.
Design your village on top of the tracks with the arch wb.
...

Data is X,Y Coordinates of this Sketch of the terrain (red color) in 2D only

hello serviteur

1. I still want to know where your xy coordinates come from.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schweizer ... oordinaten ?

how I have to fill the form to find the place of your map: https://tools.retorte.ch/ ?
when I use your data I come to a place neer aalen in germany :o

I assumed that you have wgs 84 coordinates and my script uses these,
if your xy coordinates are already distances in km the script can be simpler but I need to know what the data mean.

2. T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3

I think you have to install a gps tracker app
something like: http://www.locationof.com/phones/samsun ... ote-3-lte/ (I dont know whether this app is good  )
the tracker writes files *.gpx which you can move to your computern and import with my script.

hello serviteur

1. I still want to know where your xy coordinates come from.

My xy coordinates come from Yaounde, Cameroon (central Africa)

if your xy coordinates are already distances in km the script can be simpler but I need to know what the data mean.
Data give xy coordinates of skech terrain.
