It even recognized workbenches I installed manually by Git.

Just wondering, was the UI redesign with preview pane by kkremitzki abandoned? My Addon manager window still looks like the one from the first post in this topic.
No, I just figured that integrating the existing tool into the UI was more benefit for the effort in the short term. I'm working on a general refactoring/cleanup of the code now, and if that proves stable I'll proceed to updating the UI. The big hurdle for me was getting acquainted with Qt and not having used C++ since I was 14 or so, but I've studied up on Qt and more of FreeCAD's UI code, and my current approach has me in Python-land now, so hopefully things will speed up.

I was maybe 15 when I made a couple of programs in Atari BASIC... You'd have a good laugh at my expense if you saw what they were! Now that I think about it, one of them happened to be a very crude CAD program (which did a single thing)! :D That was my last experience in programming...

You kids are running circles around me. :? :D

Ditto, I couldn't find the .ui file - I was gonna play around with the QT IDE but couldn't even get started... :| I'd love for us to implement that preview pane / loading spinner.

I can't upload .ui files here directly, but I uploaded it onto my server; does this link work?

Perfect, thanks. I'll knock some ideas around and try to have a branch up for testing by next week.
